IMPHAL, January 4: The inauguration of a two day data dissemination workshop on “India in Transition-An Insight From Census 2011 Data” was organised at the Institute of Cooperative Management here today. The workshop was organised by the Directorate of Census Operations, Manipur under the Government of India Ministry of Home Affairs.
Prof E Bijoykumar Singh of Economics Department, Manipur University elaborated on Census house, non residential use of Census house, parameters of housing conditions, predominant material of roof, drinking water source etc in his presentation. Prof N Deva Singh, Geography Department, Manipur University and Dr M Manimohon Meitei, Sr Geographer, Directorate of Census Operations, Manipur gave presentations on “Housing Condition among SC/ST” and “Improvement in Sanitation-Analysis of Census 2001 and 2011 data” respectively. Dr M Hemanta Singh and Prof Ch Priyoranjan Singh of Economics Department, Manipur University and S Birendra Singh, Deputy Director of Census Operations also presented papers today.
