IMPHAL, February 28: The state cabinet has today was held today at the cabinet hall of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat and discussed the forthcoming address of the state Governor to the 4th session of the Tenth Manipur Legislative Assembly which will be conducted from March 6 to 8.
Addressing media persons after the meeting, government spokesperson and state Education Minister M. Okendro said the cabinet meeting minutely discussed the Governor’s address for about two hours since the address would cover all departments of the state government.
It may be mentioned that the conduct of the three day long Supplementary Budget Session of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly was resolved during an earlier cabinet meeting on February 14.
Other decisions taken by the cabinet during today’s meeting include the extension of the retirement age on superannuation for government poly-technic lecturers to the University Grants Commission prescribed limit if 65 years from 62, informed Minister Okendro.
He continued that the cabinet had also taken up the issues of rectification on the proposal for establishment of a Directorate of Language Planning.
