LAMKA, Feb 27: “The Kom Student Union Manipur, KSUM has rejected the existence of a `Komrem Student Union(KRSU)` within the Kom tribe as stated in their press release. Stating this in a press release, M Lanthanson Kom, Sec info & publicity of the KSUM further said that the Komrem is a conglomerate of six tribes namely- Aimol, Chiru, Koireng, Kharem, Kom and Purum and since all of them, including Kom, had their own student union the name `Komrem` had been given a `decent burial`.
It further said that Kom tribe is a recognized tribe whereas Komrem has no recognition any where.
