IMPHAL, February 17: The Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA) has in a release responded to the resolution taken during a meeting of the residents of Khurai yesterday to socially boycott the student body from their locality if KSA volunteers failed to turn up at the office of the Uttarayan theatre before 3 pm of February 19.
According to the release, KSA said that in connection with the coming class-X and class XII exams, the student body had earlier imposed a ban on organizing festivities using loud speakers.
However, on February 14 three Leikais of Khurai jointly organized a Tumbola which was a disturbance to the students who are appearing for the said exams, it said.
The organizers of the tombola came to KSA and spoke to KSA members in a high tone following which an altercation started with the two groups, it said.
The KSA will never surrender to those miscreants and instead,  KSA will teach them a lesson for breaking the ban of using loud speakers and also those people should surrender to KSA or else they will be taught a proper lesson one after another, it has warned.
Meira Paibis of that locality supporting those miscreants has shown that the Meira Pibis of that locality are not doing the right thing anymore, it continued.
If they think that the step taken up by KSA of banning loud speaker during exam is wrong then they should come and prove it and if they succeeded in proving it, KSA will stop it immediately and will also apologize for banning loud speakers, it said.
Some miscreants of that Leikai charging KSA members of asking money from them is their lame effort to hide their wrong doings, it further said.
KSA will continue with its ban on loud speakers until the exams gets over and further appealed for cooperation from the general public, it added.
Meanwhile, a separate release of the student body has said that it strongly condemns the burning of thePoiroukhongjing High School by some unidentified miscreants and that such an act only lead to hampering the education opportunities for students of poor parents.
