IMPHAL, February 6: IMASI: The Maharaj Kumari Binodini Devi Foundation and Manipur Film Development Corporation (MFDC) jointly observed the 91st birth anniversary of eminent Manipuri writer Manharaj Kumari Binodini at the MFDC Multipurpose Auditorium today.
During the observation, Samik Bandyopadhay gave a lecture on `First MK Binodini Devi Memorial Lecture Cinema across Cultures` followed by a screening of the Manipuri film ‘Ishanou.’
Dr K Sobita Devi, Managing Director, MFDC also facilitated artists and technicians of the film, Ishanou at the function.
MK Binodini was a winner of several regional and national awards including the prestigious National Sahitya Akademi Award and the Padmashri which she returned in 2004 in protest over a brutal rape case.
