IMPHAL, March 8: Two persons involved in the brutal killing of a 16 year old girl from a locality falling under Lamshang police station were arrested by a team of Lamshang police yesterday night at around 11 pm.
According to a source, the two arrested persons are identified as Mutum Sanajaoba (18) son of Tombi of Maklang bazaar and Lisham Naoba (19) son of Kumar of Maklang Mayai Leikai. Unconfirmed reports suggests that a 16 year old who had surrendered to the police and who was said to be in a relationship with the deceased has now been let off. Angry locals tried to dismantle the house of the two alleged accused in the brutal murder of the girl but the timely action of police saved the day.
Meanwhile, locals of Luker and its surrounding areas staged a sit in protest at Luker Mayai Leikai High school ground today noon.
