IMPHAL, April 22: The Tamphasana Girls’ Higher Secondary School Students’ Union have launched agitations by locking the doors of the school in protest against the Government`s failure to translate into action its demand of  filling up the shortages of the school, including the absence of a regular Principal and Regular Vice Principal. A memorandum was earlier submitted by the Union on April 18.

Though police broke the locks, the school campus wore a deserted look.

A source said that  around 9 a.m., the administrative block and common rooms of teachers including the empty room of Vice President were locked.

On hearing the news, Education Director (S) H Deelip and Addl. Director Chandrakumar Sharma inspected the school and reported to the police who were made to break the locks.

It may be mentioned that the students’ union of the school have been demanding the appointment of regular Principal and regular Vice – Principal including making their demands for constructing toilets, a laboratory of the science stream on or before April 21.
