Imphal: A 45 year old woman was stabbed to death by her brother in law yesterday at around 9.30 pm while she was washing utensils. The said accused has been arrested by the police while the dead body of the woman has been deposited to the morgue at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences for post mortem.
The woman identified as Phurailatpam Ongbi Naina, wife of Ph Brajagopal Sharma of Bishnupur Ward number 2 was stabbed to death by a knife by her brother in-law identified as Phurailatpam Brajakeshor (46), son of late Brajamohan under Bishnupur police station in Bishnupur District. Police have filed a case regarding the incident.
Phurailatpam Ongbi Naina was a primary teacher at Yumnam Leikai Govt School.
Meanwhile, locals of Bishnupur and the surrounding villages today called a emergency meeting regarding the incident and passed a resolution not to allow the accused P Brajakeshor to settle in the area any more.
