IMPHAL, May 5: A powerful blast reportedly of an Improvised explosive device (IED) took place along the wall adjoining the eastern side of the main road near the Main Gate of the Regional Institute of Medical sciences complex next to the Parking Shed located outside the complex. The incident took place today at around 00.30 am leaving some portion of the retaining wall and the windows and doors of an electric power house of RIMS located next to the wall damaged. However, there are no reports of any casualty in the said blast.
It may be mentioned that earlier, two powerful remote controlled Improvised electronic Device had been found inside the RIMS complex by personnel of the 69 Battalion CRPF posted inside the complex in a park located in front of the Regional Institute of Medical sciences Administration on April 20.
