    IMPHAL, May 29: Human Rights Initiative for indigenous advancement and conflict resolution has said in an official statement that a team of Manipur Pollution Control Board (MPCB), Lamphelpat, along with a team of Human Rights Initiative went to Kwatha on 2th May 2013.

    It continued that the team tested the water of Kwatha on the spot and thereafter collected some samples being used by villagers for further laboratory test. In this regard the Member

    Secretary, MPCB and their staff are being appreciated for their cooperation and understanding in the public interest, the release said. It further said that the overall health condition of the inhabitants of Kwatha is not sound and the health issues could be related with the water being used.

    It also appealed to the government of Manipur to take up other required developmental program at Kwatha.
