IMPHAL June 3: Officers and troops of 116 Battalion BSF celebrated its 24th Raising Day at its tactical Headquarter at Loktak, said a press release of the battalion.
It said the day was attended by Sh Angom Shamoo, DIG SHQ CI (Ops) Manipur as chief guest.
The function was inaugurated by lighting of lamp by Mrs Angom Shamoo.
Civil students of Chingdompok High School, Heirok who got excellent positions in HSLC examination were also honoured by chief guest, further said the statement.
It may be mentioned that the 116 BSF Battalion was raised at Dhublia, West Bangal on 27th May 1990 and got opportunity to fight militancy in Kashmir and North East, border management on India borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh and earned distinction.
