IMPHAL, June 18: A team of Manipur State Commission for Women led by its Chairperson Dr L Ibetombi Devi along with its member H Piteshwori Devi, member secretary, S Meghachandra Sharma and supporting staffs today made a spot inquiry at the residence of deceased Amubi Bibi wife of Md Abdul Helim of Golapati Maning Leikai, Imphal east district, Porompat police station on June 18, 2013 at 12:30 pm, said a press release of the Manipur State Commission for Women while mentioning that the said deceased Amubi Bibi was allegedly killed by her husband with a knife.
The visiting team interacted with the family members namely Md Iqbal, Purnima, Md Riyaj Khan, Amida and also met Haji Arafat, secretary, United Hatta Golapati Development Council in order to know the truth and motive behind the said incident while saying that this Women Commission will initiate an inquiry for the said unwanted occurrence in order to curb such crimes against women in future.
