IMPHAL, June 7: The state Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Francis Ngajokpa has today come out strongly against the allegations that the Minister and the Chief Engineer of the Manipur State Rural Road Development Agency were involved in nepotism in the bidding process of tenders for Phase VIII under PMGSY.
Speaking to media persons today at the state Education Minister’s office, the Minister dismissed all such allegations as void, baseless and unfortunate.
Clarifying on the allegations from contractors that the Minister and the Chief Engineer were involved in nepotism, the Minister said that none of the concerned state authorities including the Minister and the department heads can’t influence the Centre in the e-tender process.
Breaking his silence on the issue, the Minister decried that while he himself and his officials have been strongly involved in the successful completion of the bidding process for the past about six months, the contractors association are involved in throwing allegations.
He said, that continuing to make complaints against the government and pointing fingers at it will not solve any issue and will not bring any development to the state.
