LAMKA, June 8: The 10th felicitation program for the successful candidates in HSLC and XII examinations, 2013 organised by Kuki Student Organisation, Sangaikot Block was held today at Sangaikot community hall under the sponsorship of GS Haupu, MLA Singat.
Tongkhokai Baita, 20 Sangaikot MDC attended the function as the chief guest.
Though the area has no Govt high school, 41 students from the Sangaikot area passed the HSLC examinations in the first division and another 65 students in the second division this year while as many as 34 students passed the XII examinations in the first division.
Rev Langkhenlal gave a prayer of thanks for the successful candidates.
Speaking at the function as the chief guest, Tongkhokai Baite, who also supported the students in the run up to the exam by sponsoring their tuition fees for the Sangaikot TD Block, exhorted the successful students to work hard with the belief in God who inculcates knowledge in them.
He also warned that students should avoid the excessive use of mobile phones as it has the potential to spoil their career and future.
He presented LED study lights to the top ten successful students of Sangaikot area in HSLC and XII examinations.
In the HSLC examination, Zhunminthang Baite secured 82% in HSLC examination while Tingneingai Haokip who secured 78.4 % in the XII examination topped the merit list of students of Sangaikot area.
