JIRIBAM, July 27: UTLA (SK Thadou) faction which had recently joined the ‘home coming ceremony’ held at the 22 Assam Rifles post at Jiribam is now allegedly under the threat of another faction UTLA (Robert Singson).
A person identifying himself as one Bek of UTLA (Robert Singson) had allegedly threatened the cadres of the other faction who are presently lodged at the 22 AR post on a mobile phone on July 25 last stating that if they come out from the post, they would be killed.
Meanwhile, another person identifying himself as one Lenin, finance secretary of UTLA (Robert Singson) has allegedly extorted Rs 5000 each from the village chiefs yesterday. The reason he gave was that the village chiefs were informed to attend a meeting called by him however no one responded to his call, a source informed.
Another source informed that Pangkot Ningthou (chief of Pangkot village)has run away from his village out of fear for his life following a threat in regard with the monetary demand.
