AMWJU team leaves Imphal

    IMPHAL, Aug 1: A team of two members of the All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU) has today left Imphal for Kochi to participate the National Executive Meeting of the Indian Journalist Union, it said in a press release issued by the Joint secretary of AMWJU, Th Lakhikanta.

    The AMWJU team is led by Ratan Luwang, vice president of the North East Journalist Federation and a representative of Sangai Express, I Ibobi Singh. More than one thousand members across the country will take part in the National Executive Meeting, it said.

    The National Executive Meeting will discuss various issues such as attacks on journalists, implementation of wage board in all states, working condition of the journalists and social security of the journalist community, it said.

    The two member delegate of Manipur will address in the National Executive Meeting on the present status of the journalist of the state, working condition and their wages and the press release further continued to add that the Manipur delegate will seek the attention of the National body on the issue of getting similar opportunity with that other states and national media house, it said.
