Civil bodies demands action in rape cases

    IMPHAL, August 1: The Coalition Against Drug Abuse (CADA) Women Affairs and Child wing, All Manipur Student Union (AMSU), United Mother Organisation (UMO) demanded speedy justice for the rape victims today during a press conference at AMSU headquarter.

    Speaking to media persons Nepram (O) Bimola secretary, CADA Women Affairs and Child wing said that the accused in the rape case of a 13 year old girl allegedly raped at Bishnupur Ward No 11 by  Oinam Sunder alias Maino (34), of Bishnupur, son of Oinam Ibomcha should not be granted bail and any one involving in granting him bail should be held responsible for any incident.

    N Sarojini, president, UMO demanded that the accused of the alleged rape of a TG student should be punished like the accused in the u-morok trader rape case.

    Thouba Laishram, AMSU, general secretary appealed to the medical authorities and doctors to submit proper documents and evidence to punish the culprits.
