DM College alumni association appeals

IMPHAL, August 5: The DM College Alumni Association has appealed the college students not to create any disturbance in the 67th Foundation Day Celebration of DM College tomorrow.

DM College Alumni Association vice president N Ibohal speaking to media at a press meet held today at the office chamber of Higher & Technical Education Commissioner P Vaiphei at Secretariat North Block said that the college students’ union has announced to boycott the foundation day function tomorrow.    

He further said that meritorious students of DM college of Arts, DM College of Science, DM college of Commerce and DM College of Teachers’ Education will be awarded at the function and a multipurpose hall in the campus will also be inaugurated.

Education Minister M Okendro will attend the function as chief guest, he said.

He said that the demands made by the students must be reasonable however boycotting the important function tomorrow is not right. The alumni association along with college’s teachers and principals have been preparing for this event to make it a grand success since long time back, he said.

He appealed the college students not to create any disturbance during the function but instead join it.

Commissioner P Vaiphei also appealed the students to call off the boycott. He urged the students to address their grievances to the government properly.
