LAMKA, August 1: The Integrated Tourist Circuit House at Chullouphai village, CCpur which is a project under the Ministry of Tourism, Govt of Manipur is in dire need of funds for completion as money for the construction had not been released by the concerned authority, yet.

The tourist house along with one each at Ngaloimual and Sangaikot, had been allotted Rs 6.8 crore by the finance department but till now the funds have not been released and as such, the implementing agencies are facing a hard time.

On inquiry, the head of the implementing agency Lunjang, said that after he had learnt about the funds being sanctioned, he had started the work  but without back up from the Govt fund, the work has almost come to a stand still.

The situation has been aggravated by scarcity of raw material, and as such he had to reduce his workforce of more than 20 workers to just 10 workers as of now, he said.

The work had been started on March 2012, and as of now 40% of the foundation and grade beam have been completed.

The tourist circuit foundation stone was laid on December 2, 2011 by then Minister TN Haokip but has been left untouched until last year.

Lunjang told this IFP correspondent that with CCpur lying along the busy Tiddim Road, the tourist resort will surely be a good revenue creator and recreational center for CCpur.

The district of Ccpur has very few such projects and one such tourist circuit house was inaugurated at the Khuga dam site a few years back but now it has been vandalized and razed to the ground by people in the absence of proper care and security.
