IMPHAL, September 5: The Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has demanded the committee’s secretary of Ramaniya Aided High School, Kshetrigao, Md Manan Khan to revoke its decision on appointment of an unapproved junior teacher as Assistant Head Master In-Charge without informing Head Mistress, members of the committee, approved teachers and senior teachers of the school and asked the same to appoint teachers in accordance with the Education Code 1982, Government of Manipur.
In a statement, the students’ union said the secy had appointed the unapproved teacher to the post of Asst Head Master In-Charge by sidelining other eight senior teachers of the school and that the union had convened a meeting at the school attended by secy general of DESAM, Imphal East; members of the committee and teachers of the school to discuss the matter on September 1 last but the secy of the school fail to attend the meeting and was not present even at his residence when the Head Mistress of the school went it there to hand over the meeting’s notice.
Further, the students’ union stated that the newly and wrongly appointed Asst Head Master In-Charge would be taken as not valid and appealed the concerned authorities to intervene into the matter so as to save the future of students of the school.
