BISHNUPUR, Sept 28: A newly erected statue of Jananeta Hijam Irabot was today unveiled by N Bijoy Singh, President of the Senior Citizen for Society Manipur at Irengbam Mapal Kangjeibung, Bishnupur district.
I Shyamo Singh, Executive committee member of the celebration committee mentioned that the statue was erected with funds collected from the locality of Irengbam village.
One of the invitee, I Jayadev Lecturer of Nambol L Sanoi College said that the present generation should not only observe Irabot day but also follow in the footsteps of the Jananeta Irabot.
In his speech as chief guest, N Binoy Singh said that Hijam Irabot was born here in Manipur as an incarnation of God to help the poor people.
