IMPHAL, Sept 4: The representatives of the Council of Teachers’ Association (COTA) has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and Education Minister of Manipur urging to extend service age to 62, said a press release of the Council of Teachers’ Association. Citing the example of Delhi which had implemented the extension of service age to 62 from 2011, the teachers’ body demanded the same in the state of Manipur on the ground that the teachers are engaging in teaching-learning activity which does not involve heavy physical activity, the press release urged.
