IMPHAL, September 5: O Shanti, widow of the deceased van driver O Gyanendro has demanded justice and clarification behind the killing of her husband.
Speaking to the media while holding her infant at a press meet held today at the Manipur Press club organised by the Conflict Widow Forum Manipur, O Shanti demanded answers over why her husband was brutally shot to death.
K Gangarani, Convenor of the Conflict Widow Forum Manipur while speaking at the press meet expressed her disappointment over the state government’s failure to arrest the culprits involved in the recent killing of two drivers in separate incidents.
Pointing out that two drivers have been killed by unidentified armed persons with the state government failing to arrest the person(s) behind the killings, Gangarani observed that the Police were very quick in arresting the those involved in the bomb attack at the Chief Minister’s Bungalow and Route 39 restaurant which is owned by a relative of the CM.
She charged that the state government has not taken any action because the deceased drivers belong to the poor.
