JIRIBAM, November 16: The All Jiribam Bengali Students’ Union (AJBSU) launched a drive at Ahmedabad High School, Jiribam today around 11.30 am.
Following the drive, the students body leaders interacted with the teachers’ in-charge namely Md Azizur Rahman on different issues based on the complaint of students of Ahmedabad High School.
Saddam Hussain, general secretary of All Jiribam Bengali Students Union (AJBSU) asked the teachers’ in-charge about the incomplete school building construction, watershed and deteriorated condition of urinal, on which he replied that the incomplete building construction of the school started in the year 2003 when the school was still a Junior High School at the time of former teacher in-charge namely Md. Mohammad Ali and also added that the construction work was done through a contractor and not by the teachers in-charge.
Following the discussion, the student body leaders asked the teachers’ in-charge about the utilization of mid-day meals.
Further the teachers in-charge appealed to the students body leaders to look after the shortage of teachers as compared to the numbers of students in the school, which has class- I to X with 483 students, whereas the number of appointed teachers is only nine out of which four teachers are for primary level and the remaining five teachers appointed by RMSA for class IX and X.
Meanwhile he said that the school is upgraded from Junior High school in the year 2011-12 but still there is not any science teachers and no clerk as well as no Grade-IV (Peon).
It is also mention that there is no electrification in the school and the students face a lot of problem during summer seasons as there is no ceiling in the class room.
