Guv, CM greet on Diwali

    IMPHAL, Nov 2: Governor of Manipur and Nagaland Dr Ashwani Kumar has greeted the people of Manipur and Nagaland on the happy occasion of Diwali, 2013.

    In his message, the Governor said Diwali is celebrated across the country to mark the victory of good over evil and also commemorates the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after his triumph over Ravana.

    Chief Minister O Ibobi also extended his warm greetings and good wishes to the peole of Manipur.

    A message from the CM said Diwali is a festival of lights which marks the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after completing 14 years of exile and killing Ravana and symbolizes the triumph of good over evil of virtue over vice and of light over darkness. ‘’As the light dispels darkness, may the light that we celebrate at Diwali, dispelling all the dark forces of mistrust and enmity, show us the way and lead us together on the path of peace and social harmony for a brighter and prosperous Manipur,’’ the CM wished.
