Body claimed following minister`s assurance

IMPHAL, December 29: Family members today claimed the body of the 45-year-old man found in front of a lower primary school, Yairipok Nongdang under Yairipok police station.

Post mortem was conducted today at the JNIMS mortuary.

The body was claimed following assurance from the state Education minister that the persons involved will be arrested at the earliest.

Speaking to media persons, one of the family members of the deceased at the JNIMS morgue he said that a JAC formed regarding the killing of Ingoucha and submitted a memorandum to the state Education minister, today.

According to the memorandum submitted to the Education minister it mentioned that the deceased had gone to Nongbrang village, Imphal east district on December 25 for purchase of wood in connection with the marriage ceremony of his second son.

Later his dead body was recovered at Nongbrang Maheikhol campus yesterday and a JAC formed.

The memorandum further demanded the arrest of the persons involved before January 2, 2014 and appealed to the government for help to the family.

If the demands are not met by the stipulated time, the JAC will restore to other means of agitation.

Meanwhile, local club members and womenfolk of Oinam Sawombung today staged a sit in protest against the alleged killing of 12 year old Oinam Muba.

The body of the 12 year old was found in a suspicious manner from the banks of Imphal River some 200 meters away from the Imphal Barrage.

It may be mentioned that locals have formed a JAC after an emergency meeting was held in the locality yesterday and demanded the arrest of the persons involve in the brutal killing of Muba on or before December 31.

The dead body of the 12 year old is lying since yesterday at RIMS morgue as an unclaimed death body.
