Meiteilon will never be dead, says B Jayantakumar

IMPHAL, Feb 7: A book of Munish Ningthoujam “Ei Chatlu Khige” was released at Classic Hotel today.

B Jayantakumar, Writer, Artist and Singer attended as a chief guest, Jodhachandra Sanasam attended as a guest of honour, Dr Arunkumar Sharma, a Bangladesh based Manipuri writer as a special guest and Ningthoujam Nabachandra Singh attended as a president respectively.

Munish Ningthoujam was born at Wahengbam Leikai, Sogolband. His poetry has been recited in ‘Purbatarki Gunja 2011’ which was organised by All India Radio at Shillong.

“Many more books will be written and released by the writer in the future contributing to the literature of the state helping it grow. Knowing  English language will empower people in the state and will enable them to explain and teach about our tradition to other people in the country and abroad. We can also help develop our culture by learning about other cultures written in the english language. People should promote the English language as Meiteilon will not go extinct as it is ever developing,” B Jayantakumar said.
