MLA Ibomcha raises students assault incident during Zero Hour

IMPHAL, February 26: Following the question hour during today’s proceedings of the House, during the Zero hour opposition MLA L Ibomcha raised the incident of the alleged assault of students by VDF personnel and Commandos at Sugunu.

The three students were assaulted on a simple matter and the head-master was taken in police custody, the MLA observed.

The students are undergoing treatment at the hospital and cannot even appear their examination due to their injuries, he said.

He further asserted that the security personnel have deprived the students of one year of their career, and added that in such a condition, the students should be given a change to face the remaining papers after they recover.

In support of MLA Ibomcha’s zero hour statement, MLA ST Nunghlung Victor said that the students should be provided with a chance to appear in their remaining papers after they recover from their injuries.

Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykishan also raised the issue of the observation of the Player Day in the state.

While, drawing the attention of the state chief minister, he said, hockey player Nilakamal being the oldest Olympian of the state should be honoured during the Players Day.
