IMPHAL, February 27: A conceiving mother has today alleged that her husband and in-laws have been maltreating her ever since, she was diagnosed with Hepatitis B by doctors during her fifth month of pregnancy.
Sarangthem (n) Yumkhaibam (o) Anitabi of Malom Maning Leikai accompanied by womenfolk of her locality today called a press conference at the Manipur Press Club in this regard.
She alleged that her husband Y Rajen, 34 son of Inganjao of Kodompokpi Lamkhai has even threatened her to drop her child and to leave the house, just because of having hepatitis B, without even understanding that it can be treated.
She said after finding it intolerable, she returned to her parental home on February 25 and further appealed to all concerned to look into the issue.
The two were married on November 15, 2013, she said.
