Rio questions Ibobi’s loyalty to people:
KANGPOKPI, March 26: “I will render my best effort to solve the political problems of the people of Outer Manipur P/C honourably, particularly the Naga political issues if I am elected,” asserted Soso Lorho, NPF candidate for the 16th Lok Sabha Elections for the II-Outer Manipur (ST) P/C.
Soso Lorho was speaking at the election campaign kick-off ceremony for the NPF candidate at Mini Stadium Ground, Senapati today.
The ceremony was also attended by Neiphiu Rio, chief minister, government of Nagaland; TR Zeliang, minister, government of Nagaland and member, NPF working committee and convenor; Election Campaign Committee, Manipur, Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu, president NPF and other ministers, MLAs from Nagaland and Manipur apart from various CSOs leaders, village chiefs, Church leaders etc.
There are various political, social and economic problems which need immediate redressal, continued Soso Lorho before adding that tribal people have been systematically exploited and economically marginalized by successive governments.
The NPF Manipur State Unit is determined to work ceaselessly for eradication of such undesirable policies and practices and replace them with a participatory and equitable development approach, further added Soso Lorho.
The NPF candidate also vowed to work ceaselessly to uphold the universal principles of Human Rights and scrap the draconian AFSPA of 1958 from the whole of North East States.
Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio stated that Manipur Chief Minister O.Ibobi Singh has successfully and faithfully served the high command in Delhi but totally failed to serve the people.
He is loyal to the high command by not to the people of Manipur. The people of Manipur need a person who could wholeheartedly served the people not the high command in Delhi added Rio.
“Ibobi is the enemy No.1 of NPF not the Meetei” once again asserted Neiphiu Rio before adding that Meetei are the good friend and neighbour of NPF.
With the aim of striving for good governance and equitable development in the region as a whole the North East Regional Political Forum(NERPF) was formed with all likeminded parties of the region under the initiative of NPF who believes that the main objective of the party is to redress the regional disparities, both interstate and intrastate disparities pointed out Rio.
TR Zeliang, minister, government of Nagaland and member, NPF Working Committee as well as convenor of the Election Campaign Committee, Manipur pointed out that Ibobi Singh led Manipur state govt has done more damage than development during the 12 years of his leadership.
Look East Policy could not be implemented on ground due to the discriminated attitude of Ibobi Singh asserted TR. Zeliang before adding that if NPF candidate in Manipur Soso Lorho and Neiphiu Rio in Nagaland are elected in the Lok Sabha poll, the Look East Policy could be implemented on ground.
NPF chief Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu averred that NPF is not only for the people of Naga but belongs to all the people of the entire nation and being the oldest regional political party in the North Eastern region it has been here to champion the regional aspirations and to redress the regional disparities.
The NPF Manipur State Unit resolves to provide leadership to the society in the march towards progress and to promote and protect the common interests and rights of all the communities, and their struggle for the right to live with dignity and honour by securing the benefits of democracy to the fullest possible extent asserted NPF chief.
He also continued that NPF Manipur unit will work to facilitate in every possible manner and push forward the peace processes and dialogues in transforming conflicts between various armed political groups and the govt of India.
