NPF manifesto highlights AFSPA, ILP & border issues

IMPHAL, March 27: The NPF candidate for the outer Parliamentary constituency has released his manifesto on Wednesday in a big public meeting at Senapati attended by star campaigner chief minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio.

A press release from the state unit of NPF’s media and publicity wing stated.

The manifesto was officially released at the Mini Stadium ground which include scrapping of Armed Forces Special Power Act, 1958, implementation of Inner Line permit System, effective implementation of Look East Policy for the people, earliest settlement of Indo-Myanmar border issue, women empowerment, Sports and Youths, investment in agriculture and allied sectors, redressed of regional disparities in North East region, solving of various tribal and minorities problems, zero-tolerance policy against corruption, sufficient drinking water and power supply, employment for youth, quality education, equality and justice.

The NPF candidate has appealed to the people to vote and elect him to serve the people for peace, progress and development. In order to have social harmony and economic development, there is a need to have a political stability in Manipur, the press release stated.

It further stated that the party will fight for eight assembly segments of Thoubal along with Jiribam voters to have the right to contest in all the elections which Soso Lorho will spearhead for giving the democratic right to contest elections.

NPF alleged that the Congress led government has failed to bring development for the Thoubal people, so the party will solve the problem when it comes to power. Recently, some active workers have resigned from the Indian National Congress party after considering the step motherly treatment meted out to the people of the hills under the Congress government of Manipur.

The press release further mentioned that the next election campaign meeting for NPF will be held at Tamenglong on March 29 followed by Chandel and Ukhrul on March 31.
