Another co-accused in Lungnila Elizabeth murder case held

IMPHAL, April 16:In a significant breakthrough in the infamous kidnapping and murder case of baby Lungnila Elizabeth, one of the remaining two co-accused who were at large was reportedly arrested by the CBI today.

However, the identity of the arrested individual could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.

Meanwhile, reliable sources informed that the accused would be produced before the duty magistrate Imphal West tomorrow, appealing custodial remand for further interrogation.

The arrested individual was one of the three co-accused in the murder case who were declared wanted by the CBI with a bounty of Rs one lakh each.

Of the three, Ningthoujam Heisnam Prem Devi was the first co-accused to be arrested on April 8.

Since her arrest, only two co-accused had remained at large, identified to be L Suresh Singh alias Biren alias Nabakishore and Ngamkhotinlal Lhouvum alias Ngamphu alias King.

Today’s breakthrough was achieved following the arrest Ningthoujam Heisnam Prem Devi who was arrested in RIMS campus by a special team of CBI.

She has been remanded to judicial custody till 25 April.
