CHANDEL, May, 12: An official team of the ADC Chandel executive members led by chairman Lukhosei Zou carried out an inspection of the ongoing infrastructural development of ADC/Chandel HQ executed by the Manipur Tribal Development Corporation (MTDC) under SPA for the year 2011-12 today.
Prior to the inspection, a meeting presided by the chief executive officer of ADC Chandel, L Darsinso was held during which the executive members and the staff including AIs and DIs attended.
The staff highlighted the lack of basic things including lack of water and power supply in the ADC Office.
They also highlighted that there was no proper fencing around the office, bad condition of the approach road and the want of black topping of the same, repairing of toilets and offices.
Provisions for TA/DA for teachers and staffs were also proposed during the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, chairman of ADC Lhukhosei Zou stated that there has been an urgent need of completing the ongoing infrastructure development work for smooth functioning of the district administration right from Chandel district headquarters.
The executive members and himself have come to inspect the progress and quality ensured to the work, he said.
He also assured in the meeting that all grievances and problems faced by the staff would be discussed and addressed soon.
After the meeting, the team led by the chairman inspected the residential building of the CEO, quarters of executive members, councillor’s hostel, residential building of chairman and vice-chairman and HOD quarters.
The official team also inspected the boys and girls’ separate hostels which are under construction at the Maha Union Govt Higher Secondary School Japhou.
The team then proceeded towards DRDA Office and DC Office and had meeting with the official.
Later briefing media, the chairman pointed out that the residential building of the CEO and executive members which are supposed to be roofed with at least 0.35 mm GI sheets were done with inferior quality of .25mm and .28mm.
In this connection the chairman had asked for replacement of the GI sheets before the inauguration.
He further pointed out that the wall painting was not up to mark.
He appealed the concerned executing agency as well as the contractors to complete the work as soon as possible to help the ADC Chandel function better.
