IMPHAL, May 21: Lt Gen MMS Rai, GOC-in-C Eastern Command arrived in the State on a day’s visit to HQ IGAR(S) and 57 Mountain Division, informed a press release of the PRO IGAR (s).
It further said that the GOC-in-C was briefed on the prevailing security situation in the State by IGAR(S) and GOC 57 Mountain Division. Lt Gen MMS Rai reviewed the operational preparedness of both the formations during his first official visit to the state. The GOC-in-C appreciated the efforts of the Army and the Assam Rifles for maintenance of peace and harmony in the state.
The GOC-in-C also conveyed his support to various developmental projects undertaken in the state in coordination with the civil administration and local populace, said the press release.
He will also be visiting the Indo-Myanmar border areas on May 22 to review the situation there, the PRO IGAR (s) press release concluded.
