State biologist, T Kamini Singh elaborated that vectors are organisms that transmit pathogens and parasites from one infected person or animal to another, causing serious diseases in human populations and such diseases are most common where safe drinking water and sanitation system are unfit.
He said the use of mosquito repellent is one of the effective measures to control malariawhile as for detection & elimination of mosquito breeding sources the best means are proper management of roof tops, sunshades, proper covering of stored water, should not make water stable, and added that if water remains stagnant should pour kerosene or diesel which is the best remedy from mosquito breeding.
