DIMAPUR, July 18 (NNN): The SS Khaplang group of NSCN said today that it will never accept the outcome of the ongoing talks between the Government of India and NSCN-IM. The NSCN-K also said the talks led by Isak and Muivah with New Delhi are never the ‘Naga talks but only the NSCN-IM talks’.
Speaking to newsmen at Chumukedima Police Complex, Dimapur today while emerging from the routine meeting with the Government of India’s Cease Fire Monitoring Group (CFMG), NSCN-K’s Cease Fire Supervisory Board (CFSB) supervisor Wangtin Naga said in the event of the so called settlement of the Naga issue between the NSCN-IM and the Government of India, the NSCN-K will never accept it. Wangtin Naga terms it the ‘IM talks’.
When asked if the NSCN-K is holding dialogues on the Naga political issue with New Delhi in the near future, Wangtin Naga said his outfit will never approach for talks. “Yes, of course if invited by the Government of India we will oblige,” Wangtin Naga stated.
The NSCN-K leader then said in case the outfit enters the formal dialogue process with the Government of India the Naga churches, the Naga civil society organisations, the students’ organisations, Naga intellectuals, equal representatives from all Naga underground groups and the Naga women organisations will be taken along to the negoatiating table to hold talks. “If such things can happen then only we can call it the Naga peace talks,” Wangtin Naga elucidated, adding, “The talks led by Isak and Muivah is only the NSCN-IM talks.”
The NSCN-K leader then expressed concern on the killings among the Naga groups. “The Government of India wants us to be divided and the Nagas have been used as tools by New Delhi,” Wangtin Naga alleged.
Interestingly, today’s comment of the NSCN-K has come two days after the formal talks between the National Socialist Council of Nagalim-Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) and the Government of India have resumed on July 16 in New Delhi.
Both NSCN-IM and New Delhi have expressed optimism in finding solution and agreed to embark on the peace process with renewed and earnest commitment.
