IMPHAL, Aug 20: The Divisional Forest Officer: Central Forest Division has stated that it had called for a meeting on July 30 with the owners/proprietors of 56 number of HPC (High Power Committee of Honourable Supreme Court) Cleared Saw Mills (as per records) under Central Forest Division (Imphal East and West districts) vide Notice dated July 22.
According to a release of the Forest Division, only 34 numbers of HPC Cleared saw mills appeared for the meeting and two other saw mills who have claimed to have HPC clearance but not found in the record. It has been notified that the 20 numbers of HPC Cleared saw mills who have failed to attend the meeting will be recommended for cancellation of HPC clearance as they are found to be non-existence.
The HPC cleared saw mills that failed to attend the meeting are N Jilla SM, Achoubi Sm, W. Joy SM, Rashmi SM, S. Guni SM, Th.Apabi SM, Kh.Tomchou SM, Laisanga Damei SM, LR Maki SM, I.Bira SM, I.Birjit SM, Kulabidhu SM, Y. Nandakishore SM, M.Landhoni SM, RK Kumar SM, Ch Gulamchat SM, RK Kiran SM, M.Ibopishak SM, S.Nimai SM and TK SM.
A time period of 30 days from the date of notification has been given to the mentioned saw mills to inform the DFO of Central Forest Division on any grievances including name wrongly spelt, change of ownership, shifting of location etc. It will be deemed that there are no grievances and recommendations will be made appropriately to the director, Commerce and Industries Department, Government of Manipur if they fail to furnish their information within the limited time, it said.
