IMPHAL, August 23: A woman identified as Th Tombi, 65 was crushed to death while ten others were injured in an unfortunate road mishap this evening around 4:30 at Keinou area under Bishnupur police.
Tombi was standing in front of a water tanker bearing regd number MN01-3119 and belonging to her younger brother Kh Nabachandra of Keinou, when a passenger bus crushed her to the water tanker possibly due to a steering wheel failure, informed the police.
According to locals who witnessed the unfortunate accident said the bus which seem to be out of control was coming towards Moirang side from Imphal and hit the parked water tanker crushing Tombi inbetween.
Around 10 passengers of the bus bearing regd number MN02-2872 were also injured and taken to the nearby hospital for treatment.
The concerned police have registered a case in this connection.
