IMPHAL, Sept 24: The Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress has today announced Yumnam Thambou Singh as its candidate for the Hiyanglam by-poll.
Making the announcement, general secretary administration of the party, Khumanthem Jiken said the selected party candidate is from Langmeidong Maning Mayai Leikai.
Speaking at the Manipur Press Club Jiken said the party’s symbol will be a flower and grass.
AITC Lok Sabha MP from West Bengal Abhisekh Banerjee will be visiting the State for campaigning ahead of the by-pol, he said.
The Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress is recognised by the Election Commission of India as a political party based in the State, he said before adding that it shares a warm and friendly relation with the All India Trinamool Congress.
