IMPHAL, Sept 24: The Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has extended his greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Mera Chaoren Houba which falls on September 25, said a press statement by Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
In the press statement, the Chief Minister has stated that Mera Chaoren Houba is a traditional festival celebrated in Manipur heralding the advent of Mera Tha, the seventh month in the Meitei lunar calendar and the month brings back the age old tradition of love and brotherhood strengthening the inseparable bond existing from time immemorial between people from hills and valley.
May this festival strengthen the bond of friendship and brotherhood amongst different communities in the State for a more harmonious, peaceful and prosperous Manipur, stated Chief Minister of Manipur in the press statement.
