BISHNUPUR, September 25: The Bishnupur District has also organised the National Sanitation Campaign at Kiyamba Ningshing Shanglen which is jointly organised by District Water sanitation Committee and SEHDO Bishnupur, today.
The launching of the campaign was attended by deputy c ommissioner of Bishnupur, Jason A Shimray, IAS as chief guest and UP Adhyaksha, Bishnupur, S. Brojen who presided over the programme. It was also attended by EE PHE Office, Bishnupur, O. Meino and member Secretary of Bishnupur district Water Sanitation Committee, ZEO Zone IV, Bishnupur, K. Yaima, SP Bishnupur, N. Herojit, Retired CMO, Doctor Modhumongol, AE PHE Moirang Sub-division, L. Gokunchandra as guests of honour. . The program will be held for a month from September 25 till October 23.
In his speech, the chief guest has said that as Bishnupur has full potential to attract foreign tourists, sanitary programme is very much needed for the 45,000 households as a whole.
The programme was also attended by students from different schools, Officials and NGO representatives. A rally was also held which was flagged off by Jason A Shimray in presence of Additional SP (Ops) Bishnupur, P. Manjit, SDPO Bishnupur PS, N. Ingocha and other dignitaries. The rally started from Kiyamba Shanglen and proceeded up to Bishnupur UCO Bank at southern side of Bishnupur Bazar and returned back to the starting point.
