IMPHAL, October 19: The Governor of Manipur has suspended the operation of Sub-Section (I) of Section 10 of Manipur Shops and Establishment Act, 1972 (Act No. IV of 1973) on October 19, in respect of all shops and establishments lying within Imphal Municipality areas to facilitate the public for purchasing their requirements for ensuing `Diwali and Ningol Chakouba`™ festival, subject to the condition that the employees of the shops and establishments shall be allowed an alternative holiday for the aforesaid date under the provisions of the Act, said a notification by Under Secretary, Labour and Employment, Government of Manipur.
