Hijam Irabot Memorial Charitable Trust awards educational acheivers

IMPHAL, October 19: The Hijam Irabot Memorial Charitable Trust organised a prize distribution ceremony in connection with the 118th birth anniversary of Lamyangba Hijam Irabot at MDU hall, Yaiskul today.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of painting, poetry and singing competitions which were conducted from 21 September to 31 September for both Imphal East and Imphal West areas at Manipur College.

The function was graced by Member of Parliament at the Rajya Sabha, Haji Abdul Salam as the chief guest, Hijam Irabot Memorial Charitable Trust president and retired chief town player H Dilipkumar as the president. Professor W Nabakumar of the department of Anthropology and director of the centre for Myanmar Studies, Manipur University; Ng Nongyai, member of State Human Right Commission and Chief Legal Advisor of HIM Charitable Trust; Namoijam Tomba, chief executive editor, Pandam and chief advisor of HIM Charitable Trust; Dr Kh Jayenta, principal of Manipur Trust College and chairman of the Organising Committee and vice-president of HIM Trust; and Manipur Rural Bank general manager Khwairakpam Yaiskul were the guests of honour.

As part of the prize distribution ceremony, a teacher and a student each from 100 schools were awarded with the best teacher and best student awards, 20 institutes from four districts were awarded with `educational achievement awards`™; founder of KM Blooming school in Khangabok , K Menjor Singh received the award of `HIMS National Education and Work Culture`™, Asem Kennedy, founder of Imphal Public school, Canchipur received the award of `best personality award`™ and K Nabachandra, founder of Herbert English school, Ghari received the award of `best educational excellence award`™.
