MHJU greets on Kut

IMPHAL, Oct 30: Manipur Hill Journalists’ Union (MHJU) general secretary S Nengkhanlun on behalf of the union has wished the Kut celebration committee a grand success in a press release on the eve of the the joyous occasion and socio-cultural festival of the Chin-Kuki-Mizo (CHIKIM).

Kut festival is of great significance as it highlights the cultural heritage of the Kuki-Chin-Mizo groups and also a platform to harness peace and harmony among the diverse ethnic communities of the State. Kut Festival has slowly evolved as a way of garnering peace, communal harmony, friendship, and forging new ties, the press release said.

“Let the celebration of Kut brings joy, happiness and prosperity in the region by bringing together people of all communities of Manipur. Let us also remind ourselves the glorious day of our ancestors and their courage to protect their ancestral land from the hands of the mighty British. Let this occasion brings peaceful co-existence and prosperous future by reiterating stands on “non-communal”, Peaceful co-existence” and “Justice for all””, Nengkhanlun said in the press release.
