IMPHAL, October 8: October 8: Nongthongbam Lokendro Singh, a Group Captain in the Indian Air Force has been conferred the coveted Chief of Air Staff Unit Citation Award for the year 2013-14, for Best Transport Squadron, on the 82nd Air Force Day celebration in New Delhi today.
According to a release of the Sainik School Imphal Alumni Association, Lokendro along with his unit warrant officer received the award in today`s Air Force Day Parade held at Air Force base Hindan near Delhi. The statement congratulating Lokendro and his family members, further lauded him for making the school proud by excelling in his profession. He has kept a tradition of the school; leading by example with commitment, discipline, and hard work and most importantly rendering service to the nation, it added.
The association also wished him all success in his future endevours, and moreover his achievements will be a source of inspiration for the cadets of the school.
It may be mentioned that Lokendro has also been awarded with Vayu Sena Medal, by the president of India on January 26, 2011. He is son of late N Khelendro and N (O) Leihao, of Sambei Imphal.
