THOUBAL, October 2: The Kakching Sub-Division Scheduled Caste Students Union convenor M Pravin has told media persons that the protest against the government for not distributing scholarships for SC students before and after the Metric exam has been put off for some time.
During a press meet held today at the auditorium of the Representatives of Lois, M Pravin said the strike has been lifted following a positive assurance from the government to distribute the scholarship before October 20.
He said MOBC parliamentary secretary Md Amin Shah had visited the SC inhabited areas and organised a meeting for student representatives with the State Chief Minister and his deputy during which the students were assured distribution of the scholarship before October 20.
However, if in case the government fails to meet its assurance again, then it will continue with stronger actions than before, he warned.
