IMPHAL, Oct 7: Women Action for Development (WAD) strongly condemned the recent series of bomb blast resulting in loss of innocent lives including women and children.

In a press release, WAD has called to all to ensure that civilian lives are protected in any armed conflict in the State.

It added that the civilian populations of Manipur have experienced far too much unnecessary tragedy and loss of lives in recent days, which is in violation of international human rights and humanitarian law, and further urged all the parties to respect the laws of war and human rights.

The recent attack on civilians seemed to be well designed and systematic and no one is held accountable till date and the probable motives of such violence are hard to understand and WAD does not see any serious attempt on the part of State to ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice, stated WAD in the press release.WAD urged the concern authority to ensure truth, justice and reparation for the ends of justice to those people who are affected by such unjustifiable crimes and also appealed all the concerns to abide by the Article 3 Common to Four Geneva Convention as minimum standard, said the press release.
