IMPHAL, Nov 4: An Imphal-Senapati passenger bus ran over a man this morning at 10:15 along the National Highway 2 at Bhimparao Village under Kangpokpi Police, killing him on the spot.
The victim has been identified as Lalkholet Kipgen, 35, son of Satkai Kipgen from the area where the accident occurred.
The Kangpokpi Police has taken up a case in this regard.
The body has been deposited at the RIMS morgue for post mortem examination.
Meanwhile, a four-year-old was also run over by a Tata truck bearing regd no MN 04/A 0769 yesterday afternoon around 1:45 along the Mayang Imphal-Thoubal road at Aribam Leirak Achouba junction.
The young child is identified as Md Irphan alias Bungo son of Md Ayub Ali of Khelakhong Mayai Leikai and presently staying at Irong Chesaba Mayai Leikai.
He was rushed to the Mayang Imphal PHC but succumbed to his injuries.
The police have registered a case in this regard also.
