IMPHAL, Nov 11: The dead body of a man believed to be mentally challenged was found at North AOC near Kekrupat which is under the jurisdiction of the Imphal Police Station. Police has kept his dead body at the RIMS morgue for post mortem analysis after the verification of his identity.
Meanwhile, another dead body of man who was hanged to death using a vine in the forest of Zion Talang, a village located 18 km east of Chandel Police Station, was recovered at around 9 am today.
According to police sources, the identity of the man who apparently died days ago could not be verified as various parts of his body including his face were decomposed and infested with worms.
However, the man is around five foot tall, wears Moreh hunting boots and a black pant. He also wears a beige coloured full sleeves shirt over a black colour turtleneck shirt, and a faux leather belt, the police sources added.
The police sources further stated that the chief of the Zion Talang village reported about the dead body to them.
The dead body has been kept at the JNIMS morgue for post mortem analysis after the verification of his identity.
