IMPHAL, Dec 10: Troops of Red Shield Division found and defused an Improvised Explosive Device, IED, today.
According to a release of the PRO, based on an input received from reliable source, a special area domination patrol was launched at 2 PM on December 9. The party recovered an IED planted 10 metres away from NH2 near village Kangvai at 7.30 AM and was diffused in situ by the Bomb Disposal Squad of CID team, Imphal at 6 AM on December 10. The timely detection of IED and prompt action by troops of Red Shield Division resulted in saving lives and also prevented the disruption of traffic on the NH2, it said.
